I am so glad that I chose to take part in this training. The Rural Community Chaplaincy Training Program has been invaluable in helping me become more mindful and purposeful in reaching my community. One of the most beneficial parts of the training for me was interviewing community leaders.These interviews led to a better understanding of our community’s needs and how we could meet those needs in tangible ways. This has opened a door of opportunity for deeper ministry to our local elementary school, impacting the lives of the teachers and students. This experience has caused me to prayerfully look with great enthusiasm for new openings that the Lord will provide through being a Community Chaplain. I am forever grateful for the encouragement and ideas that I received and the new relationships with other rural pastors I walked this journey with over the past few months.
